Hi there,

I am trying to restore some mbox-files (a export from Outlook) to Google Apps, using this command:

python gyb.py --email firstname...@domain.com --action restore-mbox --local-folder /path/to/mboxes

Unfortunately, I just get only message 1 of 1 restored. In Google Apps this message is empty (no sender, no content, etc.) then.
When I try to import those mbox-files in Apple Mail everything is looking good. Am I holding it wrong? Is there any hint?

Thanks in advance,
Jan

To my knowledge, Outlook has no ability to export to mbox format (Microsoft? Standards? Never!)

Are you sure these are mbox files?

Hi Jay,

thanks for you fast response. Would it help to import/export them in Apple Mail and see if it works? Or is Apple not supporting the standards?

Cheers,
Jan

I'm not sure what you mean. Where did the file come from? How did you export it from Outlook.

Well, if you're using Outlook for Mac 2011 you can drag out a folder and it gets exported to a .mbox-file.
If gyb does not support this type of mbox, I tought about importing it to Apple Mail, which works, and export them again out of Apple Mail.

Do you have any other hints?
