I made a backup with a previous version of GYB - this was in 2014, I'm unsure of the version used or where to check the backup for this information. I am using Windows 10 Professional.

I am trying to restore the backup to a new gmail account and I've installed the latest version of GYB (1.0)

I am executing the following command to restore:
gyb --email newad...@gmail.com --action restore --local-folder C:\temp\Gmail_oldaddress

Initially, when setting up GYB's access settings, I complete the auth process and get to a page telling me "The authentication flow has completed" in the browser, with "Authentication successful." in the console.

Then, I get the following error message:
Sorry, this backup folder was created with version 5 of the database schema while GYB 1.0 requires version 6 - 6 for restores

Steps take so far:
1. I've deleted the local cfg files and tried to first just do a backup from the new address
2. I've tried to install old versions of GYB but they fail with python errors

Can anyone please assist me?

Try using version 0.31. It uses Python 2 instead of Python 3 which is probably the reason you were getting Python errors.
