Hello,

I need to backup emails corresponding to the the following command : gyb --email adr...@server.com --action estimate --service-account --search "-label:some_label"
I got the following error message : gyb: error: argument --search: expected one argument

If I use the same command without the minus sign in the search in the argument of the parameter --search, than it works correctly.

How can I exclude a label or keyword please?

Thank you very much.

I tried using your format and it worked fine for me.  I also tied "NOT label:some_label" and it worked as well (note the capitalization).

Maybe it's a versioning issue?  What version are you running?  I'm on v1.11.

Hello Paul,

Thank you for your response. It was version 1.0 on a windows 10-64 computer. I posted this quite a while ago... I'll try again after updating GYB to the most current version.

Cheers.

No problem.  And for completeness' sake, I'm running mine on 64-bit Arch Linux - just in case v1.11 of GYB doesn't do what you're expecting.

Frankly I'd be surprised if the OS would make a difference, but it's better to have too much info than not enough.

Hello again.

Thank you for this kind new response.

Glad to say that I got no syntax error with GYB 1.11.

Nevertheless, I'm a little surprised of the following results :
C:\GYB>gyb --email eri...@gestion-bsp.com --action count --search "-label:_Attendre réponse"

C:\GYB>gyb --email eri...@gestion-bsp.com --action count --search "label:_Attendre réponse"

C:\GYB>gyb --email eri...@gestion-bsp.com --action count

I was awaiting a count of 25684 from the last call. Any idea of what I don't understand here?
To me, the logic is : ( [Complete account count] minus [labelA count] ) plus [labelA count] should equal [Complete Account count]
