I used GYB to Back up my IN:SENT Mail from Gmail Account (A) as follows:

gyb --action backup --search in:sent --email acco...@gmail.com

When Restoring to Account B, how do I specify a Custom Directory ("Old Sent") to house the "old" Account A IN:SENT mail,

--- OR ---

will GYB automatically place and combine the IN:SENT Mail from Gmail Account A into Gmail Account B SENT Mail Folder with the following command:

gyb --action restore --local-folder GYB-GMail-Ba...@gmail.com --email acco...@gmail.com

Thanks in advance.

When you originally backed up accountA you specified "--search in:sent" which limited the backup to only accountA Sent mail. Now with:

gyb --action restore --local-folder GYB-GMail-Ba...@gmail.com --email acco...@gmail.com

you are telling GYB to restore all that backed up mail to accountB. The --local-folder argument specifies the backup folder which by default when you backed up accountA would have been  GYB-GMail-Ba...@gmail.com.

Jay,

With the argument I used to conly Backup the Sent Mail, will GYB automatically place and combine the IN:SENT Mail from Gmail Account A into Gmail Account B SENT Mail Folder with the following command:

gyb --action restore --local-folder GYB-GMail-Backup-...@gmail.com --email acco...@gmail.com

If not, what argument would be correct to place the Backed Up SENT Mail into Account (b)'s SENT MAIL?

Thank you in advance.

The Sent label in Gmail is actually a little unique, notice how you can't apply the Sent label to regular messages like you can other labels (Inbox, Spam, Important, etc). Sent label is auto-applied to messages you've sent from that Gmail account or that have a From: address of an account in your Gmail.

You need to do some experimenting here but I believe if you add accountA as a "Send As" address in accountB then those imported messages will land in Sent.

The alternative is to just run something like:

gyb --action restore --local-folder GYB-GMail-Ba...@gmail.com --email acco...@gmail.com --label-restored accountA-Sent

which will create a new label "accountA-Sent" for those imported messages.

Jay,

I will try your two methods.

Seperatley, do you know a Setting or Option in Gmail that would Automatically Send or Copy each and every one of Gmail Account A's "Sent" Mail to  Gmail Account B's "Sent" Mail, or any other Label/Folder such as "accountA-Sent"?

Worked. The imported messages landed in Sent in Gmail B.

Thanks so much for your patient help today.
