Restore User Backups to Group Email

Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to restore email backups from my MAC to a group email address.

I have successfully backed up the user email using this command:

Users/User/bin/gyb/gyb --service-account --email us...@domain.com --action backup

This doesn't work for me "gyb --service-account --email us...@domain.com --action backup" , I have to specify the full path in terminal.

Now my challenge is restoring the mail backup to a group, I have tried the below command but returned error:

Command:

gyb —service-account —email us...@domain.com --action restore-group --service-account --local-folder /Users/User/GYB-GMail-...@domain.com

Error:

gyb: error: unrecognized arguments: --email us...@domain.com --action restore-group

i found a working command incase someone else runs into this:

/Users/User/bin/gyb/gyb --action restore-group --email gr...@domain.com --service-account --use-admin ad...@domain.com --local-folder GYB-GMail-Backup-us...@domain.com

Have you been able to successfully convert mailboxes to groups with this?

I noticed the same thing - need to specify the full path vs GYP...which sucks tbh

Hi Jonathan,

I manually created the groups then restored the backed up data using the above command.

As for the command, I still have to specify the full path :)
