Is there an option to skip the inbox when restoring?

Thanks,
Ed

To better explain, I am using GYB to move messages from one account to another. Is it possible, while moving or after moving them to the destination account, to archive the messages with GYB so that they do not appear in the inbox of the destination account?

Thanks!

Hi, I guess you are looking for option --label-restored , then you can apply filter in gmail to do whatever you want with restored/moved emails - or you want something else?

best regards
Stepan

Thanks for your reply. I'm looking for something that I can accomplish with GYB. I'm moving messages for other users in my organization, and I don't have Gmail access to their accounts. I want to be able to archive the moved messages with GYB so that I don't have to explain to the users how to do it for themselves in Gmail.

Ed

Im not sure if we understand each other, it is possible to match just some labels with search, strip them from former labels and restore with your own label to any gmail account you have token to.

Ah, I see. When I copied a group of messages and they appeared in my inbox, I assumed GYB was automatically labeling them "inbox". But you are suggesting those messages were only carrying over the "inbox" label from the source account -- in other words, that they were all still in the inbox on the source account. If I understand you correctly, my question then becomes this: If I am restoring messages that are, in the source account, labeled "inbox" and "other label," can I remove the "inbox" label but keep "other label"?

Thanks for your answers.

Each message has stored metadata including labels in db.
try
gyb --email newad...@gmail.com --action restore --search "label:other label" --local-folder GYB-GMail-Bac...@gmail.com
I have tested these features back in 1.6..
if this does not work I would copy and edit the database directly, make working copy and there delete all emails without label you want
