         ·            Meeting enterprise business needs for highly available, reliable, scalable, and secure services.

         ·            Maintaining compliance with industry standards and government regulations (such as the Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure Library).

         ·            Identifying, drafting, and reviewing service level prerequisites for business needs with availability guarantees backed by enforceable Service-Level Agreements (SLA).  The consultant shall also identify and draft the SLA roles and responsibilities of each party.  These SLAs will be offered by the ITS to CHP clients.

         ·            Providing SharePoint solution services that leverage operational scale and best practices to achieve optimum commercial price performance.

         ·            Obtaining ongoing feedback mechanisms to ensure that performance meets expectations.

 

Responsibilities

         ·            Under the direction of the Data Processing Manager III, the consultant position will assist the California Highway Patrol (CHP) in planning, designing, and implementing an enterprise SharePoint environment.  The consultant will assist the Information Technology Section (ITS) staff to architect, install, and configure a SharePoint server farm environment capable of supporting CHP’s overall needs.

         ·            The SharePoint Architect will be responsible for SharePoint enterprise architectural design aspects including hardware, software, security, messaging, work flow, interoperability, flexibility, reliability, scalability, and architectural structure and capability for the Department’s enterprise environment.

         ·            Additional duties will be assigned as necessary in administration and management of the CHP enterprise SharePoint environment and possible conversion of CHP Web and Access database applications to SharePoint and SQL Server.
