Arapahoe Avenue Reconstruction - 17th Street Intersection Closure Next Week
The majority of the new concrete roadway along Arapahoe Avenue will be completed by Friday, July 25.
Next week, the intersection of 17th Street and Arapahoe Avenue will be closed while the roadway is reconstructed. Access to the adjacent streets will be maintained at all times.
· From Monday, July 28, through Wednesday, July 30, both directions of 17th Street will be closed to through traffic from Grove Street to south of Arapahoe Avenue, with detours in place.
o Northbound traffic will be detoured east onto Marine Street, north onto 19th Street, east onto Arapahoe Avenue, then north onto Folsom Street.
o Southbound traffic will be detoured west onto Canyon Boulevard and then south onto 15th Street.
· On Thursday, July 31, and Friday, Aug. 1, both directions of 17th Street will continue to be closed to through traffic from Grove Street to south of Arapahoe Avenue, with detours in place.
o Northbound traffic will be detoured east onto Marine Street, north onto 19th Street, east onto Arapahoe Avenue, then north onto Folsom Street.
o Southbound traffic will be detoured east onto Arapahoe Avenue, south onto 19th Street, west onto Marine Street, and then back south onto 17th Street.
Reconstruction of the 17th Street and Arapahoe Avenue intersection is expected to be completed by the end of the day on Friday, Aug 1. On Sunday, Aug. 3, there will be other street and path closures in the area for the Ironman Triathlon.
Both directions of Arapahoe Avenue are scheduled to be reopened by the end of the day on Friday, Aug. 15. There will continue to be daytime/off-peak single-lane closures throughout fall 2014 to complete landscaping and final finish items.
