Community Meeting About Boulder High School - TODAY

Hello Neighbors! 

We live on 16th Street, near Boulder High and while the students have always caused issues for the neighborhood, this year has been especially bad with daily varied offenses including littering, reckless driving, aggressive and rude behavior towards residents and other passersby, smoking and doing drugs, theft, hit & run accidents, setting off fireworks, and more. I'm sure that at least some of you have been affected by this as well. 

Today, at 12:30pm, there will be a virtual meeting on Google Meet with Boulder High administrators, Boulder Police and local residents and businesses who are affected. If you feel inclined to join us, please do! The communications I've had with Boulder High and the Police thus far make it seem like they are mostly resigned to just allowing this behavior to continue. They need to hear from the community that this is not the way to help these kids grow into kind, empathetic, thoughtful and respectful members of the community. And, that this is not the way to be good neighbors.

Thank you! Had I known about this earlier, I would have attended. 

Please read or at least discuss the issues we face:

Parking on 18th street is OUT OF CONTROL! We have at least two tows per week. Our driveway at 1616 is ALWAYS impinged upon. Too many permits were sold. 

Today a car is COMPLETELY blocking the disability ramp at the 18th street pocket park!!! I saw the HS aged kids get out and head to the HS. 

Litter!!! Litter…..lunch food wrappers, soft drink cups everywhere. Constant job to pick it all up. 

Please let me know of follow up meetings as we would like to attend.
