John and Stella (the great dane) were able to come out the last minute and help plant flowers in the Community Park at 20th and Grove.  Hopefully the combined agressive growth of vinca and mint will fill the area around the tree, and the other ground covers will do their job in the other beds.  Goal:  beauty and reduced weed pulling and maintenance.

Michele will be leading the garden "work day" this Wednesday, 6 - 8 p.m. at the 20th St pocket park.  Be part of the group who really makes the world a more beautiful place!  ;  )

Goss Grove meeting this Thursday.  Look for details from our new chair/co-chairs, John and Jerrie.

And be sure to visit our new coffee shop at 15th and Grove, 8Port Coffee and Tea.  The five coupons went quickly but Scott is offering $1 off a drink of your choice to people who identify themselves as from the Goss-Grove neighborhood.  This offer won't last forever, so get yourselves down there.  Totally sweet place!

Steve has volunteered to keep the non-irrigated beds watered.  The new plants need some extra TLC.  Thanks, Steve!

Jenny,
Did you change the work day?  This message says it is July 15 whereas your previous message scheduled it for July 22?  Please clarify.

Hi Jenny,

Would you be willing to forward this email to the community group?

Thanks.

Scott Gibson

Hello Goss-Grove Residents,

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Scott
Gibson, and I have recently opened the newest coffee and tea shop on 15th
Street called 8PORT Coffee & Tea (1727 15th).

A little about me:  I've come back to the coffee business after 10 years
as an educator, most recently as the Dean of Students at Peak to Peak
Charter School. I lived at Snow Lion and in a house on Grove Street while
I attended Naropa 10 years ago, and I am happy to be back in the area now
as a business owner.

A little about the business:  The name 8PORT came as a result of pondering
my vision. I wanted to create a community oriented place that was safe and
comfortable for people from all different directions of life. So, 8
represents all the different directions and a port is a safe place to
recharge (ships would refuel at the port, safe from the rough ocean).

The cafe turned out beautiful. Stop in to see it and introduce yourself.
The mural itself is worth the visit. Bring in your own mug, and your
coffee is a dollar - all the time. We also have pastries, sandwiches,
salads, and burritos from Udi's, bottled drinks, chips, RUSH bowls, Bhakti
Chai, and anything iced and frozen.

To those of you I've already met, thank you for being so welcoming. I'm
looking forward to meeting everyone else - though it will take me a bit to
learn everyone's name.

Hi Everyone,

I'm giving away free coffee, and you also have a chance to win a $25.00
coffee and tea bar tab.

Print and fill out the attached PDF and bring it in to 8PORT, 1727 15th
Street in Boulder, for a free 12 oz cup of organic coffee.

Plus, the person who emails the most people who then come in for their
free coffee will win $25.00 worth of coffee and tea drinks. (Secret: if
you received this from your pal, you can still win by forwarding this to
even more people than they did! Who's up for a competition?)

So forward this to as many people as you know. Give the gift of free
coffee - and increase your chances of winning.

See you soon.

Scott
