Continued Support Needed!

The amendment to Goshen's Civil Rights Ordinance to include "sexual
orientation" and "gender identity" passed City Council by a 4 to 3
vote on first reading. Because the vote wasn't unanimous, city law
requires a second reading.

Groups from outside of Goshen are spreading a lot of misinformation
about what this simple amendment actually does. We know that council
members are receiving large amounts of negative communication.

Please continue to extend our supportive network throughout Goshen!
If you haven't written or called council members, please do. If there
are people who you know to be supportive of such efforts and you have
not talked with them yet, please do and encourage them to communicate
their support to the council members. Council contact info can be
found on the home page of this google group.

There is a petition going around for business owners in the city to
sign in favor of the amendment. If you have not yet been contacted to
sign the petition and wish to, please email us at

It is clear that we need to show the council that the majority of
Goshen supports inclusion and tolerance in our city.

Please attend the city council meeting on Tuesday, September 1st at
7:00pm in the GOSHEN HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM.
