Dear all,
Please note that the drinking water timing is 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. do not use the water for drinking purpose other than this timing water supply.

ALso remember that,  do not collect drinking water if there is water supply in both taps of the kichen. collect water only when one tap is on and other is off( complete off, not even single drop od water in the second tap. If so, that means there is a mixure of bore well water and PMC water. Highlight to security person to close the borewell tap).

Regards,
Ramakant

Subject: Water TDS levels in D1 block

Hello All,

I purchased a TDS meter from ebay and conducted some experiments by reading the water TDS levels . Please find below the readings of TDS (Total Dissolved Salt):

1. Water from normal use: TDS ranges from 400 to 550 ppm.
2. Water from drinking tap:
          a. When normal tap also has supply: 400 to 500 ppm
          b. Between 1 pm to 3 pm (when normal water supply is off): 75 to 100 ppm
3. Water from Aquafina (Pepsi's mineral water) : ranges from 0 to 1 ppm.

From the above readings, it is clear that when the normal water supply is functional, it pollutes the drinking water supply and makes the drinking water worthless. Which is why, drinking water at evening tastes very poor (salty). In fact, at home, we have Aquagaurd and Pureit, and the filteration process could reduce the hardness from 450 ppm to about 200 ppm, just 50%. So any non-RO water filteration system is not useful when processing the drinking water at timings other than 1pm to 3pm.

I have not been able to find any authentic resource for any definite answers, however, http://www.tdsmeter.com/what-is is a good resource that tells what is hardness and how is the permissable range for drinking. 170 + ppm is considered as hard water and a TDS of upto 200 ppm is considered safe. However, that depends on what salts are dissolved.

So, what do we need to do? Ensure that we store the drinking water only from 1 pm to 3 pm, and for those who cannot store, would need to install an RO system that will remove the TDS from water.

Thanks,
Krishna Rath

Thanks for information.

Is it possible to increase the timing for fresh water or similar arrangement in the evening?? This would be great help to families where all members are out during the day.

Hi,
We had to talk to the central committe. we used to have pmc water supply twice a day, but now it is restricted to one time only.

Apart from that, it has been decided to conduct society election on 18th Sept. Once the new team is in place, we can ask for two times water supply.

Second: once new elected body takes over the charge, we have to pay the monthly maintenance charge ( most probably Rs 1.0 per sqft or Rs 1000 flat).

In the last meeting, it has also been decided to close the mundwa side gate permanently for both 2wheeler & four wheelers. presently the gate remains closed after 12:00 mid night to 05:30 morning. As of now there are only 2 security person for the society.
This is for the information to all.

Thanks,
Ramakant

Hi,

Let me know when we are going to meet the central committee on this, I'll keep self available.

The new maint charges are obnoxious, what about the one-time maintenance fees collected at inception??

Security point is valid, but any measures taken to avoid trespassing during the day?
