I'm new to websockets. How secure is the gorilla package by default?

I am just learning about websockets for the first time, and I hear that in general there are security considerations when dealing with web sockets, and I'm just wondering how much of that is already addressed by the gorilla package? Do I need to implement anything additional to make sure that my connections are protected?
