The article from The Argus on January 4, 1884 concerns a licensing court hearing in relation to the Royal Mint Hotel, Little Lonsdale Street West. Michael Gorey was fined two pounds for selling liquor to people other than lodgers or travellers.
It's probably not him because another article refers to Michael Gorrie receiving the licence from Bridget Cragg.
