Michael Gorey was born at sea on September 24, 1841 before his parents James and Elizabeth Gorey arrived at Port Phillip six days later.
He never married and not much is known about his life. He died at Nagambie on July 31, 1908.
Is this a reference to him (see below)?
The article from The Argus on January 4, 1884 concerns a licensing court hearing in relation to the Royal Mint Hotel, Little Lonsdale Street West. Michael Gorey was fined two pounds for selling liquor to people other than lodgers or travellers.
It's probably not him because another article refers to Michael Gorrie receiving the licence from Bridget Cragg.
