Use as Reverse Proxy

I was trying to use this as a reverse proxy and i got an error that its a proxy and to use it as such so wanted to know if there is a way to get it to work as a reverse proxy or if I am looking at the wrong lib.

I think that you're better off use a dedicated reverse proxy library. Goproxy is meant to be a client proxy lib.

Using a dedicated one may be an idea but what got my eye is how easy it is to add features to this one.
