Annoying Alert notifications while texting someone

I am using Google Voice on an iPhone 5S when I am actively texting someone I keep getting annoying pop up alerts that require me to click view or close before I can look at the text and respond. notifications are set to none in settings > notifications > Google Voice. Anyone experience this and know how to stop it.

Just a thought, but you might want to check your general settings as well as the Google Voice settings. Jerry in Michigan.
