Solving the problem of LOST/OLD/STALE Phone Numbers.

When we switch phone numbers, the transition is not smooth and
involves a lot of manual work for everybody...
The owner of the old number needs to email everyone his new number
hoping that his email addressbook contains the mail ids of all people
who need to know his new number.
Most of the recipients need to type in the new numbers into their
addressbooks. At least some of them would postpone this and then
forget and so on...
At the time of calling, if I don't have the current number of the
calee, One needs to disturb someone to obtain the number...
Not sure if I am this unique moron having this problem. But I guess
many people have this problem.
Number portability solves this problem partially, when it is
implemented. But all the older number users still have the problem.(If
my understanding is correct). Does anyone know if Google voice totally
eliminates this problem even for non google voice users? I don't think
so...
I thought of a solution which I am suggesting as a seed for further
exploration. Maybe we can come up with a solution that actually works.

There is some space available @ my home that I plan to share with
hackers in Bangalore who are building their startups. I could have
given this for rent and stretched my runway. But I feel that the value
of a bunch of hackers hanging out together improves the probability of
each of us succeeding.
No need to pay me in cash or equity. Just be nice and reasonable. All
I'd say is don't be a parasite. Just provide value of some sort, that
makes you an asset to the growing community and not a liability. Make
others want to have you around.
