I used to be able to set the number of rings before my GV number goes to GV voicemail. However, I don't see that prompt in my settings menu anymore and my calls subsequently go to my mobile voicemal, which I don't want. Have the developers removed this setting or am I missing something? I've currently checked off the "Do Not Disturb" setting, but I want to be able to take incoming GV calls. How do reinstall the function to set the number of rings again?

Did you ever get a reply to this question?   I cannot find anything about changing the rings with Google Voice either.  However, some mobile providers will allow that, but sometimes you have to have them directly set it on their computer if there is no option on the phone itself.  But according to ObiHai Technologies, on May 1, 2014, there is a change being made with Google Voice and they will no longer support the XMPP protocol.  I'm not sure of what that all means except those of us who use Google Voice with the ObiTalk adapter for free phone service will no longer be able to do so.  I understand Obihai is working to get some alternatives for the users - here is the link https://www.facebook.com/obihaitechnology, but that apparently won't solve your problem.  Have you tried entering a search on Google itself (not Google Voice)?  Google Voice is a nifty tool, but the support is JUST TERRIBLE, as happens with such a big monstrosity as Google.  So, you might want to look into what Obi has to offer.

Take care,

Hi Jerry,

Thanks for letting me know. You're the only person to respond -- and, yes, Google support is horrible (only a few inches above Amazon customer service).

Unfortunately, I don't have an Obi and am in no economic position to buy one yet. Ugh, I think I'm going to have to call my cell phone carrier to see what they can do, since my phone's ringer/vm setting isn't helping.

Thanks again for your help!

I'm looking for a way too. I think I'm going to have to find another app or something for visual voice mails and spam protection. GV worked great for Sprint, but Google fails to ever ring my cell phone # anymore after a month of troubleshooting.

Hi again.  I just replied to you under a different link, but are you sure you have put your new cell phone in there under SETTINGS / PHONE / Forward Calls To?   I just got an additional cell phone, I went there and input the number for forwarding and it has been ringing whenever my Google Voice phone number is dialed.
