My Google Voice number has been lost, Please help!!!

I am a real estate agent that has been using google voice as my area phone number.  This google voice phone number was attached to my gmail.  I recently changed my gmail and domain through google apps for business and when that happened, my number disappeared.  Now I have thousands of dollars in marketing material that has a number that is no longer in service.  The reason this happened is because the person that helped me with the conversion of email addresses (which was a three day process) advised me to cancel my old email address and to only set up forwarding.  I took his advice and without knowing my old email was linked to my GV number, we deleted the account.  I feel this person should have advised me of all other accounts that were connected before telling me to delete the account.  When I talked with Google apps for business, they stated it's not their department and they had no contact numbers for GV.  This is costing me so much money and not to mention the money I'm no missing out on because of their mistake.  They also stated the number went to a recycling bin and cant be retrieved for over 3 months. Does anybody have any advice of perhaps a phone number that I can get in touch with them?  The only other thing I can think of is to seek legal advice.  It seems ridicules that cant just get the number back for me, please help!!  Thanks for your time, Frank

You should immediately pull that number from Google and activate a cell phone with that number as if you were porting it over from google voice. You'll have a cell phone bill for it now, but it's a far cheaper and better solution since that number has been tied to you for quite some time. 

I would hurry if I were you.

Just reactivate the Google account and have access back to the google voice account.
