I like many others have seen the RIPTA feed along with some other
transit providers are down,
It is my ULTIMATE hope that in the future GOOGLE thinks about
allowing users to view ARCHIVED data for transit feeds for
participating agencies !
Atleast then users can get a general idea of bus routes and
APPROXIMATE time schedules.
For now their is some VERY small relief
Allot of users have created some maps that might help.
For instance this "B Line" map , which to first glance to me looks
like the trolley maps.

Their are other user created maps, you can look threw them simply by
searching for the word "RIPTA" and choosing from the advanced
options , "User created content".

dates. We focus our coverage on the future.
My ultimate hope is that all agencies will be as diligent about making
schedules available in a machine-readable format as they are today
about publishing them for people.

end they are best motivated by feedback from riders such as
yourselves. Please let them know how useful their data is when
integrated into Google Maps.

WHAT IN THE WORLD
Could possibly be stopping google from allowing users to view archived
routes !?
Other than the server bill. ?
Simply show a overlay watermark that alerts the user that the routes
are not current. (RealTime)
This would help everyone out, not to mention the environment !

Tom,
I spoke with someone at RIPTA who said that they were trying to
contact someone at Google to resolve some data validation errors that
were preventing the data from being successfully uploaded. However,
nobody from Google had responded regarding the corrective course of
action as of Wednesday, 9/30/09. Could you or someone else please
contact RIPTA as soon as possible to resolve this problem and restore
the use of this valuable transit tool? Thanks.

Just giving this thread a bump. It's been 39 days since Google
Transit has not been been working for RIPTA routes. Could someone
please contact RIPTA and resolve the data validation issue? Thanks.

Rest assured that we're on the case--we've been in touch with RIPTA,
and hope to have the service restored soon. Apologies for the outage;
it turns out that there were several cases where messages didn't reach
the right people. For future reference, data providers should always
use transit-...@google.com (or the official partner support group
at http://groups.google.com/group/google-transit-partner-support ) to
get help solving data issues.
