Google Transit Coverage / City Selection

Hello Everyone,

There's been a good amount of traffic on this discussion group (and on the Web) recently about the agencies included in Google Transit / Google Maps.  With increasing frequency, individuals are writing to ask that we (Google) add their local agency to Google Maps / Google Transit.  We are as excited as you are about expanding coverage to new cities, but we cannot do it on our own.

To clarify: we do not select which cities are covered in Google Transit (rather, the agencies in those cities select us).  Transit data you see in Google Transit comes from our partners (transit agencies).

If you would like to see your local agency included in Google Maps / Google Transit, please write or call the agency to encourage them to participate.
