This group was set up about a year ago by Google for the Chicago area. Does someone in Evanston want to take it over?

Your Meetup Group will shut down in 2 Weeks!

Members of Chicago's Official Google Meetup,

Your Organizer, Nate Tyler, just stepped down without nominating a replacement.

Without an Organizer, Chicago's Official Google Meetup will shut down on April 2, 2010.

Step up to become this Meetup Group's Organizer and you can guide its future direction, schedule Meetups, change its site's colors — you can make it whatever you and your members want!

Other members can help you. Ask them for ideas or even nominate a few to help as Assistant Organizers.

I don't know about this group, but what about having Meetups around town in support of the Fiber initiative and getting ECMC to film them. (In advance of Google Day).

Meetups for dog owners, meetups for seniors, meetups for teens, meetups for moms. . .

Or just go around town asking people "How do you Google?" or something and collect a lot of "testimonials."
