Amharic computer glossary

After agonizing for many years the authorities in Ethiopia came out
with some what complete computer terms glossary. In my view it still
lacks in many ways. It can be clearly observed that there is lack of
coordination between the linguists and the information technology
professionals. And it resulted in a less than optimal Amharic terms.
But I belive it can be perfected on the process of translating and
translators should not hesitate to experiment and make suggestions.
There is still a great deal of fragmentation of translations and lack
of coordination.

languages. Grab it while you can.

I find your excel file very useful.
I am re-learning Amharic as I attempt to translate words I never
thought they existed in Amharicl.

Hi Belay
That is great. Here is a wild idea. How about creating a wiktionary for geez?? One need not do every thing but start and do what ever one can. 'then others can continue from there. http://am.wiktionary.org still needs some volunteers to work on it. But i am sure people will warm up to it. Some day :-)

Great stuff. I managed to read Korean in about the time you mentioned. In one of the three, can't tell you which. Though I did not understand a thing what i was reading.

Again sorry for late response. Better late than never. How about preserving it in public domain for those who might be interested in about say 200 years. I am sort of optimistic sod. We might be busy feeling our belly to day but some day we might succeed in feeding every one and turn our selves to culture, art, aesthetic...etc that fancy stuff to day Europeans and other people from rich countries enjoy.
