An idea for using google earth

The path marker and push pins used to mark certain places can be used
to have students follow the imigration and movement of their family
across the country/globe.
Students can explore birthplaces of their grandparants and parents and
themselves.
Historic pictures from family albums can be posted and perhaps a
private viewing of slideshows showing family activities and traditions
can allow students to explore their own family history and compare
that with other students in the classroom.
This would create a true "global" classroom.
