There seems to be a number of discrepancies between searching via api
and via browser.
I've set the parameters of the api search to do no filtering and no
restriction. Input and output encoding are set to 'UTF-8'.

1. The estimatedTotalResultsCount is slightly different (for my specfic
query, by about 3%)
The count seems to be higher in the browser search.
2. The api search result contains multiple search results from the same
website.
e.g. www.someserver.com/page1, www.someserver.com/page2 etc. in
close
succession whereas the browser search only contains 1 (e.g.
www.someserver.com/page1).
This pattern is repeated throughout the search results.

Are the two using slightly different sources for searching?
Is there a way to obtain the browser results from the api query?

Thanks,
-Vikas

Yes, I'd say it's safe to assume that the two servers have different
data.

Nope.

not sure about that, but I have experienced different search results on
different computers for the exact same search.

Guess it has to do with the analysis google stores about the search...
