I'm thinking of creating a webapplication that I will charge $xx/month
to use. This application has many features for SEO and web site
surveillance. Some of this feature will require google-queries and
because all queries will come from the same ip I'm afraid google will
ban it.
It's not many queries but if a user uses all his features, he will at
most use 40 queries per day in average.
Can I ask the user for a google api to use my software? Is this against
the terms of agreement? And will it work at all or will I find my ip
banned during the early beta? :)
Is it possible to get specific clearance by Google?
If this is not possible, I guess I will have to go with downloadable
software instead and warn the user for unnatural use.
I think it /might/ be ok (slim chance though) if all you
do is to implement the API, but require the user to
fill their own account ID and explicitly (more or less)
initiate the actions that uses Google API...
However... Someome really ought'a ask a laywer :-))
best regards
Thomas
