I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to put a drop shadow around a
dialog box. My current efforts of putting a PopupPanel underneath the
DialogBox and then moving it when the DialogBox moves seems a bit
complicated, and I can't get it to work.

Does anyone have any better ideas as to how this can be accomplished?

It's not just for show, drop shadows on floating elements actually
give the visual impressions that it is sitting above the rest of the
content.

Can you not just apply a CSS style with border lines set on, say, the
bottom and left side?
I havnt tried it myself, but was going to add shadows and assumed this
could be done.

Not sure how to do "soft" shadows though.

You can make an image for the border with the drop shadow in it, and
then use the css to set that image as the background.

umm..wouldnt that make an inner shadow, and now a shadow droped from
the dialogue box?

Yes the CSS thing works, by giving the DialogBox borders. I was more
after a drop shadow rather than a solid border. The problem is that as
far as I can see I can't really add it to the outside of the drop box.
I have no problem getting a drop shadow on the contents inside the
DialogBox, just not on the DialogBox itself.
