Hi,
I've a gwt projet and I converted to facet project in order to use
Axis2. When I compile the project all works fine, but when I reopen
the project Eclipse go to heap space during building workspace and in
particular analysing the folder where there are the compiled files of
gwt.

I think that Eclipse go to heap space because analize all the file
compiled by gwt; there is some solution to the problem?

Thanks very much

Best regards

If, by 'go to heap space' you mean that eclipse runs out of heap space, then one solution is to try
increasing the heap space.

Google for "eclipse heap space" - hint: there's a file in the eclipse folder called eclipse.ini and
the heap space is set with -Xms and -Xmx, set -Xmx to a bigger value depending upon the memory in
your machine.

Are you sure its heap space and not permgen?

And another thought. If you don't need the GWT project, just close it.

Hi,
this is my eclipse.ini

-startup
plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.1.0.v20100507.jar
--launcher.library
plugins/
org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.win32.win32.x86_1.1.1.R36x_v20100810
-product
org.eclipse.epp.package.jee.product
--launcher.defaultAction
openFile
--launcher.XXMaxPermSize
256M
-showsplash
org.eclipse.platform
--launcher.XXMaxPermSize
256m
--launcher.defaultAction
openFile
-vmargs
-Dosgi.requiredJavaVersion=1.5
-Xms1024m
-Xmx1024m

My machine has 6GB of RAM but if I set Xmx over 1024mb eclipse doesn't
start with error "JVM Error".
My project is a gwt project and use also axis2 so I can't remove the
gwt part!

The error during building is "An internal error occurred during:
"Building workspace".
Java heap space"

Thanks very much!

You are using 32 bit eclipse - have you considered using 64 bit? I assume you have windows64.
However, that may not be your problem.

Tell the eclipse to not analyze those files. Menu Project | Properties | Validation

yes Alan,
I've Windows 7 64bit; maybe is better use Eclipse 64it. However I
think the problem can be solved with suggest of Filipe.

Thanks!

Hi Filipe,
I disabled ALL validation on my projet but Eclipse continue to make
"Javascript validator on /myprojectname" and then run to heap space.
Why Eclipse ignore my settings on the project?

Thanks!

Hi Bond,

I've seen that this matter is a bit old, but there is no solution to your problem in this thread. Due to the fact that I am facing the exact same symptoms (Java Heap Space Error at validating GWT Project and turned off validation has no effect, eclipse validates anyway) and did not find any solution for it.
I hope you can remember how you fixed it, cause I've been working on this for 3 days now and getting sick of it..

With best regards
