Is this a known issue? I can't find one.

It's the simplest of tests and crashes on the first Gears line:

db = Factory.getInstance().createDatabase();

The only odd thing is that I have to install the plugin every time I restart Chrome.

I also have -noserver and -portHosted

But Firefox works OK

IE says it's installing the plugin, asked if I wanted to allow it to run, prompts for repair if I try to reinstall it, but GWT complains that the plugin is not installed.

So I've got one out of three. I've tried it without GAE but to no avail

All work in production mode as expected

Does no-one else get this?

Or does everyone, but not care?

Is no-one at Google interested that their product crashes?

Oh, well...
