Hi All,

I am pleased to announce the release of ScURLr (http://
www.ScURLr.com), yet another GAE powered web application. Essentially,
it's a screenshot generator/visualization tool for websites. It can
generate screenshots of anything and everything as long as it is
universally accessible through standard compliant web browsers.

One of the interesting thing about this application is it's use of
varieties of technologies and APIs. I can summarize it as follows

ScURLr = GAE + GWT + Gadgets + etc.

Please give it a test drive and let me know if you have any comments,
thoughts, suggestions or critiques.

Thanks,

Siddique

1) for storage for the bigger images you can use amazon s3.

2) at gadget tabs the inner tabs of the gadgets are not look like tabs
- only as one grey row.

3) if i change to an other gadget, then the inner widget do not
display the gadget. if i change the top tab to usage and then come
back to gadgets then the last selected gadgget is displayed but the
other 2 gadgets not.

i use firefox 2

in ie6 this works

Thanks for the reporting this. Yes, I did notice the item 2 & 3 you mentioned. I'll fix this in the next release.

Thanks again,

Siddique

How long do you have to wait?

Shouldn't be not more than 30 seconds.

First time I waited at least 3 mins - nothing - tried again - 5+ mins - nothing.

Reloaded the page and got a result. Tried a different page - nothing. And another - nothing.

Maybe I'm just unlucky :-(

How do you get it to grab a screenshot for a GWT 'page' ? e.g. http://examples.roughian.com/#Panels~CaptionPanel - I can't work that out, either.

That link dowsn't work in IE7, but I got it in FF3 - but that thumbnail is of the home page. How do I get a thumbnail of the screen I see if I browse to http://examples.roughian.com/#Panels~CaptionPanel ?

The link you have is probably a redirected link http://examples.roughian.com/#Panels~CaptionPanel, I guess ScURLr is not waiting till it loads the redirected link completely. It's probably a bug, I'll look into it.

Thanks,
