Hello is there a nifty way to load my module in full screen browser
mode while removing the browser menu and address bar and of course the
refresh and back/forward button. what i aim to do is to make it look
like a desktop application window.
anyone tried to do that?

you could use window.open() ($wnd.open(...) in JSNI) to open a new
widow which removes the features you don't want to see. search for
javascript window open.

However, opening a browser window full screen is really naughty.
Particularly, it annoys me, as I have pretty big screens, and don't
ever want a window full screen.
When I land on a Web sites that open a window full screen, I
immediately reduce the size, and generally just close the window and
go away.

If your application is geared for a particular screen size (1024x768
for instance) , you should query the screen size, and attempt to set
the browser window to the required size and only if you can't open the
window that size, set the window to full screen.

well there are several ways to do it, but i was checking if it could be done inside gwt code without opening a new window and closing the other. it is not a website, i am writing a distributed desktop application where i have a main screen loaded than everything else is loaded using dialog boxes. and i am looking to open the main screen in full screen mode in a clean way, without opening a new window then closing the default one.

Similar drill then

Query the screen size, then set the window to that size. You'll have to make JSNI calls in GWT to do that, but is shouldn't be more than a couple lines of code.

I'm not sure that it is possible to remove the title bar and such without opening a new window though.
