Portugal subdivisions

I need to draw a portugese geochart, with region level details.

My data source uses NUTS 2nd level so it gives 7 regions for Portugal :

PT11	Norte
PT15	Algarve
PT16	Centro (P)
PT17	Lisboa
PT18	Alentejo
PT20	Região Autónoma dos Açores
PT30	Região Autónoma da Madeira

By looking at the documentation on geocharts, google chart tool uses ISO_3166-2 level but this subdivision is only on some sort of sub-regions : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-2:PT

Is there a way to obtain a map drawing with the NUTS 2 division ? For instance, for France, there are 2 kinds of possible draws, one with region and the other one with provinces

What do you mean by saying that there are two kinds of possible draws for France?

Changing the resolution option to 'provinces' is the only way of testing how the county is going to be divided in regions? Is there anything else possible?

for France, you can draw with region or departments, because the  ISO_3166-2 definition for france lists both levels :

For Portugal i would need the "region" level but the ISO_3166-2 for this country lists only districts

OK the ISO_3166-2 definition for France lists both levels, True.

But drawing a map with no data .... and choosing the options:

region: 'FR',

resolution: 'provinces', 

displayMode: 'regions',

by default will result in a map of France and 22 subdevisions ... how can you obtaion any other results?

If i feed the map with department data, i will get the 90+ subdivisions. But for Portugal i have no other choice than district, which is an issue to me as i have data only distributed by region
