Column chart slanted text on multiple lines

I have a Google Column chart with just five bars. The horizontal axis labels are slanted (hAxis.slantedText = true, hAxis.slantedTextAngle = 30). Because the labels are quite long, they get cropped off ("this axis label is too l..."). However, since there is enough space between the bars, I would prefer to place the slanted text on multiple lines. Would this be possible?

In theory, some combination of values for hAxis.maxAlternation and hAxis.maxTextLines should work, but in practice, I've rarely been able to make it work.

You can make it multiline by using \n in your labels.
