Hello,

Can you tell me if there is a way to send graphics with PHP, server side ?

I want to generate a graph (combo bar chart + line chart) every week and send it by email.
What is the best way to do that ?

(is it possible with google visualization or is there another library ? Zeta-components seems to work well, any idea ? )

Thank you for your help !
Nicolas.

With the Visualization API, you would need to render the chart in a browser, call the chart's getImageURI method, and send the image/octet stream to your server to save as a .png file that you could then email.  You could also use the Image Chart API, but that API is deprecated and due to be turned off next April.

Just an update on the Image Chart API: we're not planning to turn off the API in April. It's more that three years ago when we issued the deprecation announcement, we warned users that we might turn it off three years later. Right now it's not much of a burden to keep running, so we'll do that.

Think of it this way: if we turn it off, we want to be able to say, "hey, we gave you three years' notice."

I think I'm able to say "lol"

You can't tell people to use it tell them to keep in mind that it could be turned off tomorow !
I want a safe, durable and perenne way to do server side graphics, I don't do it just for fun.
I'm heading zeta-components at the moment.

Nicolas.
