embedding visualizations in email

to Google Visualization API

using Apps Script, has anyone been able to use HTMLService to render a visualization within the htmlbody using MailApp. I am using the createtemplatefromfile option and is seems to execute, but the email does not contain the graph. Any ideas? I can easily do it using the Charts Service and inlineImages, but would prefer to use the visualization api
