Changing the datatable structure

Hi there,

I am trying to implement a Gantt table to a project I am working on but the datatable for creating the charts is very limited and I need to be able to make my own structure for creating rows and columns. 

Is there a way to manually change the data structure for the datatable or get similar results allowing me to customize which data types I add to the graph.

I am using javascript by the way.
