I've been working with the Google Visualization API on a project, and
have run into a few snags. Originally, we had planned on placing two
3d pie charts side-by-side, but there seems to be a fixed margin on
each side of the pie chart. If there were no margins, the charts
would fit perfectly, but as it is, I have to shrink them almost beyond
readability to get them to fit into the area designated for them.

Because of this, I'm exploring the possibility of having them stacked
vertically, but together they are quite a bit taller than the rest of
the page. I think changing the viewing angle of the 3d pie chart
would help shorten it a bit.

Thanks in advance!

tl;dr: Is there a way to remove the margins on the 3d pie charts? Is
there a way to change the viewing angle of the 3d pie charts?

Hi

I'm assuming you are referring to the 'corechart' package and in that case, currently you cannot control the margin or the pie's angle. We are considering adding some more control over this in the future.

You can also consider using the image version of the pie chart in which the margin is smaller - you can see the documentation here:

Best,

Hello everyone,
I am proposing again this question since some years are passed.

Is there a way, any way to tilt forward or backward a Google Pie Chart?

I need this to demonstrate how it is possible to use this technique to lie with Charts... thank you

Sorry Chris, we can't help you lie that way yet.  3D charts have been suffering general neglect, but we do hope to have much better 3D support in the future.

Ok, thank you... what about rotation?

I am also trying to use the option "pieStartAngle" in order to rotate a 3D PieChart.

var pieOptions = {
          'title':'Thousand barrels daily in '+selectedYear+". Total World: "+csv[csv.length-1][selectedYear],
          'width':600,
          'height':300,
          is3D : true,

          pieStartAngle: 180,

          chartArea : {left:20, top:45}
      };

The problem is that while the option is indeed rotating the Pie chart, the opposite side of it gets 'Broken'.

To understand what it means, Visit ->  http://ltw1556.web.cs.unibo.it/foo.html and to display the PieChart click on any of the Bars in the BarChart ....

Is it something I have been doing wrong or the PieChart library is not designed to do this kind of job?
