I have a need to plt the Geochart for different countries. I follow the ISO II standard for the countries. A few countries are missign for example Hongkong could not be plotted on the Chart.

Kindly let me know the procedure to find the missing ones.

Hi, Honk Kong actually does exist in the GeoChart, but it's too small to show on the world map. It would be smaller than a pixel at 800x600. However, if you use markers mode, you can show a marker there. You can prove to yourself that it's there by setting the region to 'CN', resolution to 'provinces', and adding some data for 'HK'. You'll notice that it is, in fact, colored in.

Is this the case with Abkhazia (GE-AB). This is again a republic in Georgia. I am not able to plt for this as well on my world chart. but i am able to plot when I set country to Georgia and plot a state.

Thanks,
Vinod

The case of Abkhazia is different from the case of Hong Kong. Hong Kong is actually seen as a top-level country, it's just too small to render at world view. The problem with Abkhazia is not that it's too small, it's that it's a province of another country, Georgia. So in order to be able to put any data for Abkhazia, you have to set the region to Georgia ('GE') and the resolution to 'provinces'.

I think the geochart view could use a 'distortion' factor. flag 0 is true plot of the polygons. 1 is an inverse-log sale adjustment of flagged micro-sized to make them 5-10x bigger but in the same location. 2 is relocate to the logical centroid of the view.

This would mean you could say 'draw me the pacific but let me see the micro-economies' and you'd see them all centered in their natural position but bigger. Or, if you set flag 2, they'd pull into their geo centroid, and if 1 was set, also be bigger so it would be like a 'zoom in' with unreal placement.

Do you mean that you want a fish-eye lens transform for the geochart? Is there anything that implements this kind of thing today that you can point to as an example?

I am having this same problem, but with larger countries like South Sudan. Any ideas on why this might be happening? Is there a list somewhere of the country names that geocharts accepts and where they can be found?
Thanks
