Thanks to all contributors who share their knowledge here and have helped me figure out answers to some technical questions I've had in the past.

I want to share a couple of recent experiments with the chart API, where I recreated some of my favorite data visualizations, namely an animated temperature chart and a Tufte temperature chart.

I've written about the thought process and code on my website:

This first chart is an animated data visualization of Washington D.C.’s temperatures:

Here's the chart and the code on GitHub.

This second chart is a recreation of Tufte's famous temperature chart, and looks at daily average temperature over a period of time for Washington DC, capturing the historic min/max range, the normal range, the 2014 temperature line and picks out the highs and lows.

Here's the chart and the code on GitHub.

Both charts make use of multiple series, with different parameters set, to control the different types or colors of lines.

Thanks Ben for your wonderful charts and writeups.

I encourage everyone who can do so to write up their experiences using Google Charts in interesting ways.
