I am trying to put a google motion chart into a web page without also showing the sheet.
But the embedded visualization is returning an "access denied" error.

For the sake of making this easy to diagnose (I hope) here are the relevant pages:

I published the chart, and google viz gave me this link to put into my web page:

I put that link into my web page here: http://www.ed100.org/state-education-bubbles/

The outline of the chart appears in my page, but the chart itself does not: an "access denied" error appears.

What am I doing wrong?

Your spreadsheet isn't public.  You have to publish it before it can be used as a data source.

Thanks -- I finally got it. I now understand that I needed to make ALL of the pages of the sheet public, AND I needed to choose publish.

Someone on another thread had asserted that Wordpress couldn't accommodate this -- but it works.

In your data source urls, try removing the "&pub=1" from the parameters.
