How do I easily put a chart from the Code playground (http://
code.google.com/apis/ajax/playground/?type=visualization) into a
Wordpress page ?

Ive tried simply coping the html code and pasting it into the page
html field and I got nothing.

Are you trying to display the chart on your Wordpress page or post? You would need to copy all of the code from the upper right window + the javascript reference to google.com/jsapi and the appropriate load call into the appropriate places in your WP theme. It might be worth checking to see if someone has created a WP plugin to display Google charts.

Good luck,

Bruce

- both page and post. would there be a difference ?
- You would need to copy all of the code from the upper right window;
YES.
- + the javascript reference; WELL IN THE HTML FORMAT IT INCLUDES THE
JAVASCRIPT FORMAT.
- to google.com/jsapi; WHAT DO YOU MEAN ? copy the above to here ?
- and the appropriate load call; WHAT IS THIS ?

I am experiencing the same issue... After struggling for several
hours, I gave up. If you need more information, you can click on
http://performancegurus.net/blog.html and then click on Read More to
see how it shows up in a WordPress Blog. A quick search on the web re:
embedding Javascript in WordPress revealed that WordPress does not
allow Javascripts unless you have a Full WordPress installation
(whatever this means!).

Any help re: this would be useful. I followed all the instructions as
listed in this thread.

How about using the Google Image Charts? (http://code.google.com/apis/chart/image/)
and then, just embed an image source in the HTML :-)

Good luck

I apologize for not reading more carefully at the beginning. Because I run Wordpress sites standalone rather then through wordpress.com I answered based on the standalone approach. None of that applies if you're running a blog on wordpress.com because you can't change any of the code in the background as I was suggesting.

I suspect what you're trying to do cannot work, since not only do the charts need javascript, they specifically need Google's javascript.
