Annotations on a Column Chart

Sorry this seems like such a silly question,

but how do you get annotation data on a column chart?

If i use a linechart then my annotations appear but the column chart does not seem to have option to

show the value on top of the bar?

Unfortunately this is currently not supported.

To clarify a bit, perhaps: annotations are not currently supported on Column charts.  Also, there are not any other methods for adding text or values to the bars in a column chart.
