Hello,

I am interested in using the Google Annotated Timeline API for a
project I am working on, but the requirement is to have a vertical
timeline. In other words, the time should be in the Y-axis rather
than the default X-axis. Is it possible to do so? I have searched
and read a lot of documentation about that but with no luck yet. I
hope I am missing something cause I really need this functionality.
Please advise.

Thanks.

Sorry, this is not supported.

Is there any chance this will be supported? If so, when?

If not, are there other options in Google charts that will allow vertical timelines?

Thanks.

What exactly do you need. There is a full gallery of charts, maybe you can have a look and see if any of them matches your needs.
Yet, please note that most designs will put the standard timeline below the chart.

Thanks for replying. Well, I did review the other charts provided by Google and none of them offer what I am looking for.

Simply, I need something similar to the annotated timeline, except it is vertical.  It could be an option added to the current annotated timeline API so that the time is on the Y axis rather than the X axis.  I understand that most designs will put the time on the X axis, but I believe for our project (and I am sure many others) having the timeline on the Y axis is the way to go.  One important advantage of the time being on the Y axis is usability because you will naturally scroll up and down the time line rather than going horizontally.  This is the natural human scrolling movement (pages normally scroll up and down ...etc.) .  So usability suggests vertical timeline, especially for our project.

Here is an example of a vertical timeline (this is however not what we exactly wanna do, but it is out there)

Anyway, I really hope that there is a future plan to add a vertical display option to the current annotated timeline api.

Thanks.

Hi, unfortunately the vertical annotated timeline is still not supported.
