Currently I am only able to create a local database, can anyone direct me as to how I can go about creating a dashboard that uses a google spreadsheet as a database.

Joel,

To use a google spreadsheet as your data, you should be able to follow the instructions at https://developers.google.com/chart/interactive/docs/spreadsheets
but it works with an IntensityMap not in a dashboard.

To use spreadsheet data with a dashboard is very similar to using local data.   The complication is that you will have to wait for the data to be returned, when your handler is called, before you can proceed with drawing the dashboard.   Hope that helps.  I can put together an example if you are still having trouble.

Hi Joel.
Did you find any explanation on how to create a google dashboard using data stored in a google spreadsheet?
I've been looking for such example for a long time now and I don't seem to find anything like that. All articles and docs refer to using a local table.
Please advise.
Thank you so much.

Basically, a Dashboard drawn from a data source (like a Google spreadsheet) is fundamentally no different than a Dashboard drawn from a locally-defined DataTable.  The only difference is in how you obtain the DataTable to draw the Dashboard with.

Here's a simple example: http://jsfiddle.net/asgallant/YNaGh/.

Thank you Drew.
That's all I needed.
