custom geocharts transition on hover, how ?

Hello ! I am building a website and I need to use geocharts for data representation. and I want to have a special hover transition.  so that when the user puts his mouse over a country, it will transition from its current color, to white. 

no poping out or anything. and if possible, make it transition based on the angle the mouse entered the country from (4 directions only).  <--- that css is done and works for divs. but how do I apply it to geocharts ?
