d3.sankey is not a function

I am working with the Google Sankey Diagram and am able to successfully implement the chart. However, if I refresh the page on which I have implemented the Sankey Diagram, I receive the error "d3.sankey is not a function" and the Sankey Diagram does not render. I am loading the following google visualization service to power the chart: 

google.load("visualization", "1.1", {packages:["sankey"]})

I am using Chrome (Version 46.0.2490.80) on a Macbook Pro OS X Yosemite.

I'm using Chrome (Version 47.0.2526.69 beta) on a Mac Pro OS X El Capitan.
