Hi,
I'm using the geochart api in a webpage that can be see in development
here:
http://www.auburn.edu/~jpw0011/index.php

Each of the four buttons when clicked will bring up a different map,
four maps in all, and each map has only one main color for the
highlighted countries.

Here's the thing ... when this page is viewed from either an iphone or
ipad ... there is some bizarre blue showing up around India in the
orange maps (second and fourth buttons). What's weird is this is
illogically possible. The code doesn't allow for these colors to
exist in the orange maps. It's binary logic ... on and off, and if
it's on, it's orange, if it's off it's gray. Where is that blue
coming from???? Has anyone else written or asked about this kind of
weirdnes when viewing the geochart with an ipad or iphone? When
viewed in a desktop version of safari, all is well and there is no
blue. Any ideas where this blue might be coming from???
Thanks for your time on this.

So, anyone have any thoughts on this issue with the ipad rendering
SVGs used in visualization APIs in a weird way? I researched other
threads in the discussion and found it mentioned once back in July,
but all that was said was "hopefully a fix is on the way for that" or
some such. Well ... six months later ... anyone know anything about
how to make a visualization look the way you code it to look on the
ipad???
Thanks for any time you can spare on this.
Also curious if there are any plans to possibly move away from SVG
format since the Kindle Fire's version of android doesn't support it.
Any news there? Seems like a connected issue.

I doubt there are any plans for moving away from SVG - it is a standard specification, and the fault lies with the browsers for not implementing it (ie, Android versions < 3, IE < 9).  The Kindle Fire problem isn't limited to just the Kindle - it's all Android devices running versions earlier than 3 (Kindle uses a port of version 2.3, IIRC).  Nag Amazon (or your phone manufacturer) for an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich (4).

Thanks. Yeah, I started to figure the svg issue was more a problem
with Kindle and others who need to upgrade to the ice cream version.
No worries there. But what about the weirdness with ipads? Makes no
sense - maps with only two colors, orange and gray, are being rendered
with some strange blue that isn't even limited by country border. I
guess that has to be an ipad issue ... reckon I'll have to "nag" the
apple folks about it. Just thought someone on these boards would know
something more about it, why it happens, and/or any possible fixes.

Just FYI, I tried installing the iOS Simulator, but it doesn't show the charts at all. So I guess the simulator doesn't work well... We'll need a real iPad.
