It's another spoken language to English caption...how sweet for us
that don't understand another language.

We are truly only limited by out imagination or sense of purpose..

It reminds me of imagery and how important that is for comprehension.
The future teacher is all about YouTube, and painting the picture of
what you need to learn, and translating it in caption is a key, like
that which starts your car on a cold winter night. LOL

2010 finally brings a decade with a name.... 10 hundreds...
Kaboom a new year!

The future of education is something I have always wanted to be a part
of. To me, it means getting education and information to all people
around the world. I know YouTube is the teacher and with its text
caption and soon video description, it just makes sense to develop in
our native language and then convert to all other languages. The FCC
has taken a few decades to standardize closed caption and they are
working on video caption which will take them a few more decades. On
the other side of the fence, the Internet, youTube have put closed
caption into the video. Later this year you will be able to convert
that to one of 52 languages which makes technology the teacher. I
know I am preaching to the preacher but its good conversation for us
to have. lol

The key for teachers like us is that technology cannot happen without
us as we control the AC/DC. BUT, the pieces (all the pieces) are here
now. Speaking of YouTube, the video of Volvo is an example that while
he speaks in another language, we get to have English caption.
Understand that once you have a caption file, you have text, and when
you have text, you can read it in braille or display differently to
accomidate all disabilities. They say over 10 percent of the kids
today have learning disabilities and I am sure text delivered their
way, (whatever they need) will allow them to comprehend. Section 508
is a great law and it has done much to insure equal access of web
sites, but I think the whole reading experience in a browser is about
to go to another level. Kindle, Sony reader, and others want a piece,
but in fact, we can create our own text to speech engines so the days
of NO kindle are less than a few years away from toast. Sound
Crazy!?!?!

Maybe, but all books are going to a browser and when we can sync
audio, video, and text and make it all operate in sync, than we can go
anywhere with talking books, talking teachers, and whatever else is
possible. I love education and I am not a fan of how in America in
the last 15 years we have let our kids K-12 slide. I know there are a
lot of great kids and smart kids, but they all had a teacher that
helped them. It’s the millions of kids that go to school that need a
new teacher. Education delivered over the network via technology is
the future teacher and its name is YouTube with caption. OK, I am
going to bed.
LOL
