Hello!

The requests to the Google Translate API seem to be getting a 4xx reply, or at least so it appears in the second chart in the "usage" tab. I figure that is due to the quota being set to 0, so I try to change it in the "Quota" tab.
The "change" button shows a window that allows me to enter a number, but when I do that and press "change" again, nothing appears to have changed. Maybe I need to "apply for higher quota", but when I click on the link, the Google Drive "Page Not Found" page appears with the following text: "Sorry, the file you have requested does not exist. Make sure that you have the correct URL and that the owner of the file hasn't deleted it."

Any thoughts? It's entirely possible that I'm not doing something right, but the "apply for higher quota" link should work anyway, right?

I ran into the same thing, it's also not working for me.

When did that occur?

Friday but it's still broken today. APIs & Auth > APIs > Translate API > Quota > Apply for higher quota > broken Google Docs link.

We're working on the bug causing this issue; for now, there's a workaround for this if you go to the old console:

Quotas can be adjusted from the left-hand navigation menu. Sorry for the inconvenience -- we'll try to get this resolved as soon as possible.

This problem should now be fixed.

Hi, Just run into this problem today, it's not fixed, I tried using the workaround below that don't work either, I just get "invalid value" when I enter any number, even if I leave it the same as what it currently is, I still get "invalid value".  Please can something be done about this ASAP as it's causing major problems for our application and we maybe forced to seek a different translation API if this problem persists.

I just got an email Back from Google about this problem:

Fixes were pushed on February 27th, they include:
  • Telling the user on the Quota tab that they have to enable billing
  • Removing the option to change the quota when billing isn't enabled
  • We no longer show a red warning triangle that 0% of 0 quota has been used
What we haven't fixed is the link to the document on how to apply for a quota increase, the bug for this has been bouncing backwards and forwards but we seem to be closing in on a resolution.

Hope this helps.

The Translate API quota request form is now at https://support.google.com/cloud/contact/translate_api_quota_request_form. You only need to use this if you require more than 50M characters per day; up to that level you can adjust your quota in the Developer console.

I'm still encountering the same problem. I have billing enabled. I tried increasing the Total quota from 2M to 4M and the Per-user limit from 250 to 400 and every attempt results in a "The user request is invalid. Please check your URL and try again" message. Is this a bug or am I missing something?
