I have over 3B characters which puts me in the custom pricing realm but I am not working in the Google Cloud Platform, I just want the API and can't get the form to send when I enter characters per day that are over 50M.  How can I get the API standalone?  Thanks!

Hello Arin,

If is possible to use the Google Translate API without using any other services of Google Cloud Platform. However, the Translate API service itself is part of Google Cloud Platform so "being on the platform" is required. Simply complete the setup to enable the Translate API after creating the project and you won't necessarily need to be using other services of the platform.

I believe you're referring to the Translate API Quota Increase Request form. If you need to translate a fixed amount of 3 Billions characters, you can do so with the default quota over a few days as it can be increased by yourself to up to 50 Million characters/day. If you need to translate higher than 50 Million characters/day, you can fill out the quota increase request form along with your project-id.

I hope that helps. Cheers!

Zeehad,

Thanks for your response, I still need to know two things before I sign up (this is a very important customer), what is the max amount of characters that can be processed in one day (above the 50M) if I PAY for the service, I need 126M PER DAY and I need all 3.8B translated in 30 days or less. I need to know that AND a cost estimate if that number of characters is possible in that timeframe. Can you please help?

Hello Arin,

As long as you you can justify your need, obtaining a quota increase to 126 M character/day shouldn't be a problem. Regarding the pricing, please contact our billing support.

Cheers!
